Antonio P. Dias, 80, entered into rest on April 5, 2014, in Manteca. He was born the youngest of nine children on July 14, 1933, in Terceira, Azores. He joins his parents Francisco & Maria de Lourdes Dias in heaven, as well as seven siblings.
Mr. Dias is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Maria Dias. His children are; Martha Dias-Linn, Rosalie Teicheira (Michael), Angela Joaquin (Randy), Cesar Dias (Kelly Riella), Danny Dias and Robert Dias. He was blessed by his many grandchildren including Jennifer & Monica Teicheira, Kristin Singleton (Travis), Jillian & Kaylee Joaquin, Devin, Dylan, and David Dias, Kelsey & Kaleb Lemmons and Brianna Flynn. In addition, Antonio has one surviving brother, Joao Dias.
Antonio was a resident of Manteca for over 44 years where he was a retired dairyman. He was a member of St. Antony’s Catholic Church, FESM, UPEC, and the MRPS where he also worked as a janitor for many years. He was proud of his Portuguese heritage as he enjoyed the Portuguese bullfights and soccer games. He was an avid gardener. His zest for life attitude, never went unnoticed as his social personality always lit up the room. He enjoyed a challenging card game with his friends where they loved squabbling back and forth on who was the “real” champion. His love for his grandchildren was unconditional as his positive influence and support continuously had an impact in each of their lives. Antonio will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and an amazing grandfather. He will be deeply missed.
P.L. Fry & Son Funeral home is honored to be serving the Dias family. A visitation will be on Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., held at P.L. Fry & Son, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, CA. A rosary/mass will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at 505 E. North St., Manteca. He will be laid to rest at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
