Carmen Hat, age 79, entered into rest on July 13, 2014 in Manteca. She was born on November 22, 1934 in Jalisco Mexico to the late Indalecia Flores and Cirilo Rosales Conchas. Carmen is preceded in death by her husband, Marion G. Hat, her son, Jose DeJesus Garza and her siblings, Rosario Quijalvo and Margarita Rosales.
Carmen was a resident of Manteca for 47 years.
Carmen is survived by her children, Maria Garza of Manteca, Felix Garza of Montesano, WA, and Brenda Haugg and husband Jerry of Manteca. She was blessed with 2 grandchildren, Kiana Haugg and Bianca Haugg; her nephews, Jorge Perez, Daniel Perez, Evar Rosales, and John Quijalvo, and her niece, Karinna Bakker. Carmen is also survived by her siblings, Rita Nevarez of Stockton, Isidra Rosales of Stockton, and Simona Flores of Fallbrook, CA.
Carmen along with her late husband were ranchers in Manteca, where they took pride in their beautiful vineyard. She loved gardening, sewing, crocheting, needle point and shopping. She enjoyed traveling and her bags were always packed and ready to go. Her destinations included Mexico, Australia, Europe, the Bahamas, and many locations within the United States. Carmen enjoyed cooking and enchiladas were one of specialty dishes. She loved to take morning walks. Carmen’s family was her greatest joy. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services for Carmen Hat are under the direction of PL Fry & Son Funeral Home, located at 290 N. Union Road in Manteca. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 6pm to 7pm followed by a Rosary at 7pm at PL Fry & Son Funeral Home. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 10:30am, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 505 E. North Street, Manteca. Final resting place will be St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, 17871 S. Carrolton Road, Escalon.
