Geraldine “Geri” Beeson affectionately known as Nona, 90, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 4, 2014, in Modesto. She was born on 4th of July in 1923, in San Francisco, California, to Thomas and Margaret Damato. In heaven she joins her loving son David Beeson and daughter- in-law Diana Beeson as well as her brothers, Joseph and Larry Damata.
She leaves behind her son Gary Beeson (Kathy) of Manteca and her brother David (Dora) Isola of Gustine. Geri was blessed with six grandchildren, Michele Karl, Aimee Pires (Roger), Kim Fowler (Jim), Debra Britt (Billy Jr.), Leanne Schock (Tim) and Michael Isham (Loni). She has 11 great grandchildren, Taylor, Jayden, Sydnee and Anthony Pires, Zachary Fowler, Billy Britt III, Taudra Schock and Troyton-Joseph Schock, Kassidy, Alison and Colt Isham. In addition, she leaves numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Geri was a Manteca resident. She moved from Turlock in 1974. She was a devout Catholic and attended St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. She worked for Cliff Parr at Central Drug store for over 25 years until the store closed.  Geri then went on to work at TG&Y, Longs, and most recently for Wal-Mart as a greeter retiring at the age of 78. Nona enjoyed crocheting, gardening and attending mass. She volunteered for over three decades for St. Vincent de  Paul at St. Anthony’s. Her greatest joy was spending time with family especially great grandkids and friends. She was our “firecracker” and took great joy in being a 4th of July baby. She would often say, “Not everyone gets a national holiday for their birthday,” ending it with laughter that only Geri could give. Geri spent many hours writing to family and friends from coast to coast, in order to keep in touch and convey her love for each of them. She never missed the opportunity to capture the perfect photo.  To have met Nona, meant you had a lifetime friend. She will be eternally missed and loved and remain in our hearts.
P.L. Fry is honored to serve the Beeson family. A Rosary/Prayer Service will held in her honor on Monday, April 14, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca. Donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul, 525 E. North Street, Manteca or Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Ave., Stockton, CA 95204.
