Alice Ida Grasso Simas
February 7, 1920 ~ March 14, 2017 (age 97) 97 Years OldAlice Grasso Simas, 97, March 14, 2017 in Manteca, Ca. She was born the 2nd of 7 children on February 7, 1920 in Gustine, Ca. She is preceded in death by her parents; Joseph and Alexandrina Costa, her first husband Frank Grasso and her second husband Manuel Simas and her siblings; Joe Costa, Mary Cota, Johnnie Costa and Joaquin Costa.
Alice is survived by her sons; Bob Grasso (Caron) and Larry Grasso. She was blessed with three grandchildren; Bobby Grasso Jr. (Cindy) Eric Grasso (Jennifer) and Sarah Harmon (Josh) and 9 grandchildren; Frankie, Justin, Gracie, Kyle, Vincent, Isabella, Blake, Emma and Levi. She has two surviving siblings; Alex Costa and Lucy Santos.
Alice grew up in Ripon and was a Manteca resident. She and her late husband owned and operated Grasso Janitorial for over 25 years. After Alice’s first husband passed away she served her community working at Dr. Emperada office, The Togery, The Shoe Palace and finally retiring at Owen Illinois glass plant after 10 years as an inspector. She was a kind-hearted lady who was a devout catholic where she loved making handmade rosary’s, attending both St. Anthony’s and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. In Alice’s younger years she enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening and had a talent for creating beautiful ceramics and crocheting blankets for just about every family member. Alice was well-known to her grandchildren and family to have the best candy drawer in town and the best infectious, always fun laughter. Alice will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She will be deeply missed.

A Mass will be on Tuesday March 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 19399 CA-120 Ripon, Ca. She will be laid to rest at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
