Barbara Jo Rigg

Barbara Jo Rigg, passed away on February 21, 2024, at the age of 84. Born in Idaho on June 29, 1939, she made the Central Valley her home for 82 years.
Barbara is survived by her husband Kay, and their children, Kathryn (John) Butron, Brad Rigg and Becky (George) Reeder. Barbara was a cherished grandmother to Tino, Angie, Racheal, Macio, Isaiah, Ruben, Richard, Sabrina, Melissa and Trisha, and a great-grandmother to 17. Barbara also leaves behind her siblings, Joe and Judy Sbragia. She is preceded in death by her parents and two precious grandchildren Emerson and Tiana.
Barbara and her husband Kay embarked on entrepreneurial adventures together. They worked together in their business Riggs Orange, where they produced and distributed orange juice. In 1983, Kay and Barbara acquired Academy Video on Main Street, providing the Manteca community with home entertainment. Known for her outgoing personality, Barbara easily made friends and was recognized for her kindness and her knack for striking up conversations with anyone she met.
Barbara’s hobbies included crossword puzzles, reading mystery novels, calling her family members and most importantly, spending time with her grandchildren. Her spirit, characterized by warmth and friendliness. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
P.L. Fry and Son are honored to be serving the Rigg family. A memorial will be on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 10:30 AM held at P.L. Fry and Son Chapel 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, Ca. There will be a lunch reception across the street at Chez Shari immediately following the service.
