Carmen Habit, 91, entered into rest on June 1, 2017, in Manteca, Ca. She was born in Nicaragua on September 19, 1925. In heaven she joins her parents Luis and Tomasa Cuadra, her sisters Olga Cuadra, Yelba Garibaldi and Angelina Cecchi and her precious granddaughter Lizzy Antle.
Ms. Habit is survived by her four children: Diane Rosenstine, Bob Habit (Barbara), Ron Habit (Addie) and Sandra Antle (Stuart). She was blessed with five grandchildren: Eric Rosenstine (Isabel), Michele Rosenstine, Devin Habit, Edward Antle and Justin Habit and one great-grandchild Tyler Rosenstine.
Carmen was employed in fine jewelry sales for over 30 years at the Emporium in San Francisco. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where she enjoyed attending Mass with her family and was an auxillary member of the Legion of Mary. She found serenity when tending to her garden and keeping her house immaculate. She enjoyed a traditional 5 p.m. cocktail, talking politics and staying in touch with family in Managua, Nicaragua. Above all, Carmen enjoyed making memories with her children and grandchildren; she loved them unconditionally. Carmen will be remembered for her vivacious laughter and as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed.
P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Habit family. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a rosary/vigil at 7:00 p.m. held at P.L. Fry & Son 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, Ca. Mass will be held on Friday June 9, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 525 E. North St., Manteca, Ca. She will be laid to rest alongside her granddaughter Lizzy at a private burial at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
