Donald J. Gesek

Donald J. Gesek, 88, passed away surrounded by his family on April 3, 2024, at his home in Manteca. He was born April 29, 1935, in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Donald leaves behind his wife Joan of 64 years, 4 children, 10 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

After graduating from High School, he enlisted in the Navy. He served aboard the Roosevelt and Midway Aircraft Carriers with the ships company VC33 planes, during the Korean conflict. He later would become a truck driver for Anchor Motor Freight, car hauler in Linden, New Jersey for over 36 years.

Upon retiring he moved to Florida enjoying the sunshine and playing golf. He also loved to camp and travel through out the United States. He would embark on one last trip to California to see his family especially his three great grandchildren. After spending time in California Donald and Joan decided to make it their new home.  Spending time with his family is where Donald was most at peace.  He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be deeply missed. 

P.L. Fry and Son is honored to serve the Gesek family. A prayer service will be held in his honor on Monday, April 29, 2024, at 11: a.m. at P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca, CA.   In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society
