Dorothy Hammond

Dorothy “Dottie” Mae (Burris) Hammond of Lathrop, Ca., Peacefully passed away on 04/22/2024. Dottie was born 01/13/1938 in Staten Island, New York and raised in Brooklyn, NY.  In 1948 the family relocated to Santa Cruz, Ca; In 1951 Dottie decided to return to her roots of Brooklyn, NY to be with family, only to return and remain in California since 1956.  

Dottie had 5 girls, Denise Bowlin (Shawn) of Boise, ID, Janice Reyes – Deceased (Benancio), Ca., Kathy Mann – Deceased, Theresa Palino (Lawrence) of Tracy, Ca, and Stacey Morales (Jose) of Tracy, Ca.  

Dottie loved to do crafts, crochet, playing bingo and holding tea parties for her grandkids, nieces, and nephews, but her most passionate pastime was being with her family and best friend (aka Sister) Linda Kroger. Dottie was extremely blessed with 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, whom she loved and adored all, they were all her “Favorites”.

Dottie was the eldest of 10 siblings (4 boys and 6 girls), she had many nieces, nephews, cousins (bonus family members) and friends. Dottie was loved and admired by many and will be dearly missed.

P.L. Fry & Son is honored to serve the Hammond Family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 1pm at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, Manteca, California followed by internment at Tracy Mausoleum.
