Mateus Borges Toste, 81, entered into rest on October 9, 2017 in Manteca, Ca. He was born on March 5, 1936 in Fonte Do Bastardo Terceira Azores. He was a resident of Manteca for over 31 years. Mr. Toste is survived by his wife of 57 years Julieta T. Toste, their daughters Teresa Azevedo (John) and Elizabeth Nunes (Dan). He was blessed with five grandchildren Brandon, Keven and  Jason Azevedo and Daniel and Emily Nunes as well as, 3 great-grandchildren Declan, Ava and Harlow Azevedo. Additionally, Mateus is surivived by his two siblings Bernadete Aguiar and Maria Aurora Diniz.

 Always providing for his family Mateus was a hardworking man, a devoted husband, amazing father and a wonderful grandfather.

Visitation will be held on Thursday October 12, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a rosary/vigil at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church 525 E. North St. Manteca. He will be laid to rest at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
