Norman “Ralph” Geurin, was born September 7, 1928 in Artesia, New Mexico; he entered into rest at 88 years of age on June 5, 2017, in Manteca, Ca.  Ralph was preceded in death by his siblings; Pedro Geurin, Pauline Jones, and Bennie Cass.

Ralph is survived by his beloved wife Bonnie Geurin; children; John Geurin, Sharon Stender (Paul) and Valerie Geurin (Aimee Mattson). He was blessed with eleven grandchildren; John S., Andrea, Sandy, Melissa, April, Dawn, Johnny G, Bailey (Tom), Keanu, Nicolas, Jace and Gracie; as well as 15 beautiful great-grandchildren.

Ralph had a strong work ethic, as he wore many hats during his life time. At the tender age of 3 years old Ralph began picking cotton; following various harvesting needs across Texas, New Mexico, and California. He entered the military as a young man; becoming an Army medic in the Korean War; Ralph was honorably discharged after 6 years of service. Post military Ralph continued to work for government agencies; including Benicia Arsenal, Rough and Ready Island, and retiring from Tracy Defense Depot.  After retiring from governmental posts Ralph continued to work at several local businesses; including SSJID as a ditch tender, Goodwill Industries, Bella Napoli winery- Manteca/Ripon, East Union Cemetery – Maintenance, and as a Security Officer in Salida.

Ralph married Bonnie Bogart 65 years ago, she was undeniably the love of his life. They celebrated their love every day that they were together. It was not unusual for a quick kiss to become two kisses, three kisses, four kisses, or more! He set a great example of devotion and love; and it is with pride that Bonnie reflects upon how in all of their years together they never had an argument. Throughout the years Ralph made sure their “his and hers recliners” were close enough so that he and Bonnie could hold hands while watching TV.

Ralph was a well-liked man who was a regular at the daily coffee shop, meeting with friends at Cindy’s Donuts. Ralph was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, fishing, and hunting. He enjoyed watching football, often rooting for the underdog. Above all; Ralph’s family and closest friends were always number one in his life. He taught us all how to work hard, be ethical, have patience, and be of good character. Ralph was a true gentleman; and he loved us unconditionally.

P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Geurin family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son; 290 N. Union Rd. Manteca.
