Olen Brannon passed away peacefully at Bethany Home in Ripon, CA on Friday, April 7, 2017 at the age of 88, with his family by his side.

Born in Fanshawe Oklahoma, Olen moved to California at the age of 20 where he reconnected with and married Jackie Jean Cutsinger on November 5, 1950, sharing 66 years together as best friends and life partners.

The youngest of 7 children, Olen has joined his siblings Roy, Floyd, Henry, Hubert, Elsie and Ruby in heaven.  He leaves behind his wife Jackie, daughter Debbie Brannon, son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Kari Brannon all of Manteca, His grandchildren, Stephanie Wilkie and husband Billy of Sacramento, Elizabeth Oyarzabal of Manteca, Nicolas Briggs and wife Tiffanie of Manteca, Daniel Brannon and wife Deanna of Ripon.  His great grandchildren, Madison and Joey Oyarzabal, Luke, Emily and Joel Brannon, Levi and Grace Briggs, and Audrey Wilkie.

Olen was a Purple Heart Veteran having served his country in the Korean Conflict.  He had a never ending interest in cars, whether he was buying, selling, fixing up or waking his grandchildren at the crack of dawn to go “check out a really good deal”, he couldn’t pass up 4 good tires and a shiny bumper.  “Papa” as he was known to his grandchildren, was always available for a tractor ride, making a tire swing, baseball practice, digging a foxhole in the back yard, working on some interesting invention or just hanging out in his shop. He was a family man, who enjoyed nothing more than gathering with friends and family to chat, tease and share funny stories.   Last August Olen moved to his home away from home, Bethany Home in Ripon where he found a whole new social circle of friends to visit and tease with.

Olen’s family would like to thank the Staff of Bethany Home in Ripon, CA for the attentive, caring, thoughtful, joyful care he received in their home, ensuring his safety, comfort and well-being.

P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Brannon family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son 290 N. Union Rd. Manteca.  Olen will be laid to rest at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 9:30 a.m.  A Celebration of Life will be on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union RoadManteca.
