 Anthony Joseph Sandoval, 86, entered into rest on June 12, 2017 a day before his 87th birthday. He was born June 13, 1930 in Alamosa, Colorado to the late John and Eliza Sandoval. In heaven he joins his parents as well as siblings, Henry Sandoval, Alfons Sandoval and Ersina Romero. Anthony also joins his grandson, Michael Hubbard.

Anthony leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years Helen Sandoval of Manteca, his children, Diane Rasor of Stockton, Janet Read (David) of Stockton, Patricia Tahran (Alan) of Manteca, Kathy Senn (Frank) of Eagle, Idaho and Margie Rasor of Manteca.  He was blessed with 8 grandchildren, Jason Read, Jeffrey Read, Kyle Moore, Danielle Turner, Richard Gomes, Alan Tahran, Gregory Medina, Marcus Medina, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. In addition he is survived by his siblings, Ernie Sandoval (Peggy), Bobby Sandoval (Betty) and Edward Sandoval (Nancy) and brother in law Arnold Rothlin (Laura).

Anthony was a long time Manteca resident. He served and retired from the United States Navy after 23 years of service. Anthony then went on to work for San Joaquin Delta College for 19 years after retiring from the Navy. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, F.R.A. and the San Joaquin Valley Swiss Club.

He was easy going and loved his family dearly. He enjoyed spending time on the green golfing or a challenging crossword puzzle. He looked forward to his casino getaways along with his wife Helen. He will be remembered as a loving husband, wonderful father, and special grandfather. He will be deeply missed.

P.L. Fry is honored to serve the Sandoval family. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm with a rosary immediately following at 7:00pm at P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca. Mass will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 505 East North Street, Manteca. He will be laid to rest privately at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 320523 W. McCabe Road, Santa Nella, CA 95322.
