Barbara Jean Martin

Barbara Jean Martin, age 80, entered into rest on May 25, 2019, in Manteca. She was born in French Camp on July 21, 1938, to the late Manuel and Clothilda Camara, and was the eighth of their ten children. She married her husband Alfred Martin in 1956, and they had 55 wonderful years together before he preceded her in death in 2012. Also preceding her in death are her brothers; Thomas Camara, Tony Camara, Carl Camara, Joe Camara and Frank Camara.

Barbara Jean is survived by her daughter Debbie Williams (Russ), son Larry Martin (Tricia), three grandchildren Amanda Martin (Jesus), Greg Martin (Estela), Zach Williams (Lexi), step-grandson Scott Meyer (Bre), and seven great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her brothers; Manuel Camara (Gerry), John Camara (Vickie) sisters, Mary Erickson, Janet Rich, and sister-in-laws Kay Camara, Claudia Camara and Trudi Camara.

Barbara Jean was a lifetime resident of Manteca graduating from Manteca High School in 1956. She retired from Manteca Unified School District as a baker in the food services department. Barbara Jean and Alfred enjoyed traveling and camping throughout California, Oregon, and Nevada.

P.L. Fry and son is honored to be serving the Martin family. Visitation will be on Monday, June 3, 2019 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm followed by a rosary/vigil at 7:00 pm held at P.L. Fry & Son Chapel 290 N. Union Rd. Manteca, Ca. A mass will be on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 19399 E. HWY 120, Ripon, Ca. She will be laid to rest at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery 17871 S. Carrolton Rd. Escalon, Ca. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Hospice of your choice.
