Tribute

Barbara Joy “Bobbie” O’Bosky of Manteca, CA passed away peacefully, at home, with family members at her side on June 18th, 2018. Bobbie managed State of California E.D.D. offices in the cities of Stockton, San Jose, El Cerrito, Manteca and Porterville for 25 years. While managing the Porterville office she also served as vice-president of Zonta Club, president of the Chamber of Commerce, service representative for Tulare County Private Industry Council, a member of Porterville Youth Incorporated and as a member of the Tulare County Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Commission. Her dedication to public service was the hallmark of her career. She was an accomplished cook serving family and friends with grace and ease. Bobbie’s crochet work and knitting were exceptional. She achieved master status as a quilter over the last twenty years with applique as her specialty and she was an honorary member of the Sweat Sisters quilting group.     
She was preceded in death by her husband Larry O’Bosky, her brothers Dick and Michael Gersbach and her parents Charles and Alma Gersbach. She is survived by her brother Chuck Gersbach (Helen) of Eureka, her sister Carolyn Witcher (Bruce) of Camp Verde, AZ, her children John Peckinpaugh of Stockton, Linda Powell (Dennis) of Stockton, Chuck Peckinpaugh (Suzie Steen) of Napa, her stepchildren Stephanie Young (Mark) of Valley Springs, Katherine Smith (Steve) of Scotts Valley, Craig O’Bosky of Manteca, Jennifer O’Bosky of Manteca, her niece Susan Weber (Richard) of Cameron Park (and many more nieces and nephews), her grandchildren Amy Butterfield (Josh) of Pleasanton, Brandon Powell (Kris) of Stockton, Kerri Ann Peckinpaugh of Manteca, Matthew Marchini (Dawn) of Stockton, Austin and Hannah Smith of Scotts Valley, Amber Carmo of Turlock, Matthew Bristow of Lodi, Zack Young of Valley Springs, Jacob Young of Hilmar as well as twelve great-grandchildren. Private services will be held for family only.
