Carmen Phillips, 63, passed away on July 12, 2021 with her loving and devoted husband of 35 years, Leo Phillips, by her side. She is preceded in death by her father, Agapito Alvarado and her brother Manuel. She leaves behind her mother, Eustolia Alvarado and her mother-in-law, Doris Settle. Carmen was blessed with 3 children: Michele (Joe) Holcomb, George (Jessica) Valim and Michael Phillips all of Manteca. She is survived by her siblings: Victor, Julia, Milo, Frank, Maria and Jose. She was blessed with 7 grandchildren: Gabriel, Victoria, Miguel, Julian, Manuel, Mariah and Dominic. She had one great-granddaughter, Natalia and was eagerly looking forward to the arrival of her first great-grandson, Ezekiel in November.
Carmen was a true “people” person. She loved meeting and talking to everyone around her. She loved working as a “greeter” at Food 4 Less where she once appeared in their commercial for the store opening. Carmen was an avid crafter and enjoyed making birdhouses, cooking and gardening. She loved to travel to Monterey and go camping with her family.
Carmen had a quick wit about her and always spoke her mind. She was so friendly and outgoing and her infectious personality will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the Phillips family. A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 28th from 9am to 11am with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 11am. Burial will follow at Park View Cemetery.
