Cecilia E O'Rourke

Cecilia E. O’Rourke, 91, entered into rest on August 18, 2019 in Manteca, Ca. A native of Iowa she was born on June 5, 1928. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert O’Rourke Sr.; her parents, Theodore and Rose Schmitt; and her siblings, Loretta Korzendorfer, Alvina Bodensteiner, Esther Myers and Roy Schmitt. Cecilia’s younger brother, Alfred Schmitt, currently resides in Iowa.

Mrs. O’Rourke is survived by her children, Michael O’Rourke, Patrick O’Rourke Sr. (Judy), Peggy McCleary (Jim) and Robert O’Rourke Jr. (Christine). She was blessed by 6 grandchildren, Juli, Kathleen, Kelly, Ryan, Patrick Jr. and Meghan, and 10 great-grandchildren. 

Cecilia grew up in Iowa where she owned and operated her own beauty salon. She and her husband relocated their family to California where she raised her four children. She was a loving mother and grandmother who was extremely proud of her family. Cecilia was a long time member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church of Manteca. She enjoyed reading and was an avid sports fan, never missing a Giants, A’s, Warriors, Kings or 49ers game. Cecilia will be remembered for her friendly demeanor and her loving spirit, and she will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
