Surrounded by his family, Donald J. Gallagher, 84, entered into rest on May 1, 2019 in Manteca, Ca. He was born on July 17, 1934 in Livermore, Ca. to the late Francis and Ruth Gallagher. In heaven, Don joins his parents and his beloved son Stephen F. Gallagher.
Mr. Gallagher is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Shirley Gallagher and their daughter Sherri Bogetti (Robert). He was blessed by six grandchildren; Stephen K. Gallagher (Candace), Breane Giest (Gary), Randy Neto (Danielle), Mindy Neto (Nick), Hailey Bogetti and Dyllin Bogetti, great-grandchildren; Jace, Max, Rowan, Brookelynn, Olivia, Madilyn, Seth and Grace. In addition, Don has one surviving brother Ed Gallagher.
Don grew up in Livermore and made his home in Manteca 54 years ago. He retired from Sandia National Labs as a supervisor after 32 years of employment. Upon retirement, Don focused on his entrepreneurship, Gallagher Vineyards. The family business was Don’s passion and career that he truly enjoyed for over 50 years.
Don was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where he looked forward to his Saturday ritual of church, dinner, a delicious glass of wine and a game of cards with great friends. He enjoyed the outdoors; fishing, hunting, gardening and driving tractor were some of his favorites. He loved taking road trips with his wife RV’ing all over the country. He was a great storyteller and enjoyed talks about the “old days” in Livermore.
Above all, Don loved his family unconditionally; he enjoyed family gatherings which always involved; wine, food and quality family time. Don will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his huge heart and his firm character. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Union Rd. Manteca, Ca. A Mass will be on Thursday May 9, 2019 at 11:00 am held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church 525 E. North St. Manteca, Ca. He will be laid to rest at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery 17871 S. Carrolton Rd. Escalon, Ca. n lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the American Cancer Society, in honor of Don.
