Dorothy Oliver

Dorothy Oliver, 77, entered rest July 24, 2021 in Manteca CA. She was born October 1, 1943. In heaven, she joins her husbands Paul Sherman and Barry Oliver, her parents Marc and Lucille Mroczkowski, sisters Jocelyn Kitzmiller and Cheryl Hull as well as her grandson Ryan L. Sherman.  

She leaves behind her children; David Sherman of Rhode Island, Dana Dutcher (Steve) of Manteca, Donna Ellefson of Manteca and Dino Sherman of Sacramento. 

Dorothy also leaves behind her brother Jim Cowger of Antioch, sister in law Chris Monrel and husband Vincent, grandchildren Corey Sherman (Jess) of RI, David Alex Sherman (Sarah) of MA, Olivia Sherman of MA, James Key (Jenny) of Stockton, Kristi Key of Linden, Joseph Key of Linden, Timmey Ellefson and Katie Ellefson of Manteca as well as two beautiful great grandchildren Morgyn Key and Benton Key.  Dottie, aka “Aunt Dolla” has many loving nieces and nephews throughout the states that will miss her dearly.

Dorothy was a Manteca resident since 1997. Lovingly known to most as “Dottie” she loved her work, family, friends and helping everyone. Dottie chose mechanics as her profession.  Working mechanic positions at Alameda Naval Air Station, Mack Trucks and finally retired as a B.A.R.T mechanic in 2005. In her retirement years, she enjoyed being a member of The Red Hat Society and spending time with all her Red Hat friends.

Dottie treasured time with grandchildren and supporting them in their achievements. She was a talented seamstress and loved to sneak short getaways to Jackson Casino but mostly preferred spending her time with family.

Dottie enjoyed hosting every holiday she made everyone feel loved and special. Dottie was the Matriarch of the family, happiest when surrounded by children, nieces, nephews and grandchildren.  

She will be remembered as a loving Mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. Dottie will be deeply missed by so many.

P.L. Fry is honored to serve the Oliver family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in her honor on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca, CA.
