Evalena Tillson

Evalena Tillson, 85, entered into rest on November 5, 2021 in Manteca, Ca. She was born on December 10, 1935 in Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her son, Tony Horton and her son, Joe Horton passed away five hours after his mother. 

Mrs. Tillson is survived by her husband Harry Tillson, children Bonnie Nicks, Mark Tillson and Amy Crossland (Ken), siblings Fritz, Frankie, Julie, Joe, Henrietta “Henner”, Ressie and Margaret. As well as, many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, grand children, great grand children and her beautiful fur baby, Toby who all loved her dearly. 

Evalena was a phlebotomist for many years in Santa Maria. After her phlebotomy career, Evalena then went into business for herself owning Eve’s Uniforms; she retired after 15 years serving the Santa Maria community. After retirement, Evalena and her husband moved to Massachusetts where Evalena’s husband built her a beautiful log cabin. They made their home in Mass for over 20 years and decided there was nothing like the love for family; they then made their home in Bakersfield, Ca for over 15 years to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Evalena was always full of life and was up for adventure; she and her husband loved traveling and enjoyed experiencing new places and new cultures. Evalena was a bird enthusiasts; she loved bird watching, feeding birds at the pier and listening to their beautiful sounds. Evalena will be remembered for her loving, opinionated spirit and for living her life to the fullest. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
