Florence Marie Simi, 92, entered into rest May 11, 2019 in Ripon. She was born December 25, 1926 in Sulphur, Oklahoma. In heaven she joins her husband Silvio Simi and her daughter, Victoria “Vicki” Zuber.
Florence leaves behind her son Michael Simi and wife Cathy of Danville, son-in-law Leo Zuber of Ripon; granddaughters, Randi Polanich (Jon) of Los Gatos and Robyn Udavi (Richard) of Ripon; great-grandchildren, Ethan Polanich, Martin Udavi, Owen Polanich and Stephanie Udavi.
Florence was born in Sulphur, Oklahoma, the last of eight children born to Mace and Florence Ada Nowlin. She met Silvio during World War II and they were married at Ardmore Air Force Base in Oklahoma in 1945. They moved to Alameda and Silvio owned and operated a series of service stations while Marie did clerical work for a variety of companies. They retired to Paradise, California in the early 80’s and lived there until moving into Bethany Home about 10 years ago. She had a life-long passion for bridge and travel, especially to Silvio’s family home in Italy. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed.
