Gerald R. Van Horn was born on June 11, 1943 in San Jose, California. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 6, 2021 in Lodi, California. He was married for 30 wonderful years to his wife, Joanna. Together were parents to his two children and her two children from former marriages: Vanessa (Chuck) Bardo of Grass Valley, CA, Brianna Trapani of New Mexico, William (Raquel) Rios and Marc (Kristin) Rios. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren: Brandon, Isabella, Alex, Nick, Payton, Jayden, Marley, Max, Madelyn and Roman. He is survived by his brothers: Tim Van Horn and Gene Van Horn both of San Jose.

Gerald grew up in San Jose and upon completion of High School, he proudly served our Country in the United States Army from 1961 to 1966.  He went on to have a lengthy and dedicated career to the citizens of San Jose serving as a Fire Fighter. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, going to San Francisco Giants games and spending time with his wife, children and his grandchildren whom he loved tremendously.
