Ida Aleen Gall

On Monday, May 25, 2020, Ida “Aleen” Gall, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully at the age of 96. Aleen was born on November 15, 1923 in Brentwood, CA to Ida and Grant Reed.  As a child her family moved to Stockton, CA where she settled and raised her family.  Aleen married her high school sweetheart Bud Samuelson, and in 1950 son Don was born.  After Aleen was widowed she met and married Thomas M. Gall, a teacher and artist, while working as attendance secretary at Schneider Vocational School and their daughter, Karen was born;

Aleen was known for her passion for the arts and philanthropy. For 18 years, Aleen enjoyed her position as the esteemed Art Director for the Elsie May Goodwin Gallery in Stockton, CA. Aleen was known for her compassion for the arts and local artists. As a pianist, Aleen appreciated classical music and frequently attended Stockton Symphony performances. Aleen was lovingly known for her quick wit, sense of humor as well as her compassion for others.

Aleen is survived by her two children, Don Gall (Susan) and Karen Krueger (Ken), four grandchildren, Nick, Kristen, Michael, and Morgan, and two great-grandchildren Fionn and Colm, as well as nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by husbands Bud Samuelson and Tom Gall, her parents and brothers.

Due to the current state mandates, a memorial service will be scheduled for a future date, however arrangements have been made through P.L. Fry and Son and private burial at the San Joaquin National Cemetery.  Donations to Hospice of San Joaquin on behalf of Aleen for the care they provided for her beloved husband Tom Gall.
