Tribute

John Matthew McKeever,91, entered peacefully into rest with his Chihuahua Pinky by his side on November 9, 2018. He was born in Brooklyn, New York May 7, 1927 to the late Matthew and Helen McKeever. In heaven, he joins his adored wife Viola and great grandson Nicoli Oliva.

John leaves behind his children; Curtis McKeever (Loretta), Lynn McKeever, Jim McKeever (Pat), Kathleen Engstrom (Gary) and Dan McKeever (Marylou). In addition, he leaves one sister Ann Hodges and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

John was a Manteca resident but was a native of Brooklyn, New York. He served his country proudly during WWII through the United States Navy. He loved his family dearly and his wife was the love of his life. He was as interesting as an encyclopedia; knowing so much of the world around him. He read countless books and always with a highlighter in hand to highlight an interesting article from a newspaper or a paragraph in a book. He was a collector of many things which to him where priceless momentous. He enjoyed garage sales, vintage car swamp meets and second hand stores. He supported the Hope Chest as he received so much help with Hospice while his wife Viola was ill. He was ever so proud of his Irish roots and chose his Celtic Cross head stone prior to his passing.

John Matthew McKeever will be remembered as a devoted husband, remarkable father special grandfather. He will be deeply missed.

A graveside service will be held in his honor on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 1:00pm at Parkview Cemetery, 3661 East French Camp Road, French Camp, CA.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Community Hospice,4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA.
