Born in Bolanos Jalisco, Mexico on June 12, 1927, Juan Sanchez Banuelos, entered into rest surrounded by his loving family on September 25, 2018 in Manteca, Ca. In heaven he joins his wife Angelina and his son Joe Banuelos. He is survived by his three daughters; Rosie Gentry, Rebecca Bean (Bobby) and Elisa McKnight (Tyrone). He was blessed by ten grandchildren; Anthony, Christina, William, Jr., Cynthia, Joshua, Elisa, Melissa, Steven and Joel and five great grand-children; Haylie, Carter, Gabriel, Brody and Cody. In addition Juan is survived by four siblings; Elias, Amalia, Cruz and Jose Banuelos.

Before moving to Manteca 60 years ago Juan worked for the Railroad in Livermore for several years. In 1958 he and his wife relocated to Manteca where he made is career as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for the Manteca Bean Company; retiring after 24 years of service. Juan was a devoted Catholic where he and his wife were heavily involved with St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. They were leaders of the conception of the Mexican Catholic Association. Juan served as past president, treasurer and organized many events including The Day of The Virgin Guadalupe. Juan was a humble man who enjoyed the simple things in life; woodworking; building many items for family and friends, gardening where he was well-known for his beautiful Nopales and watching the Raiders games with his three daughters. He loved playing the guitar and appreciated every genre of music but was biased to his Mexican music. He was a huge baseball fan where he loved the SF Giants, keeping track of the Little League World Series and just recently was a converted follower of the NY Yankee’s. Above everything, Juan’s joy was spending quality time with his children and grandchildren; he loved them unconditionally. He will be remembered as a loving daddy, an amazing grandpa and a loyal friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

The Banuelos family would like to extend a warm heartfelt thank you to Juan’s caregivers Emma and GiGi. The care you provided is not definable through mere words. Please know the care you gave our dad never went unnoticed. Our dad truly appreciated, respected, valued and loved you both so very much.
