Julia Carrasco – a loving Mother, an incredible Sister and a loyal Friend to many – was called home on February 4th, 2021 surrounded by her loving children. She was 55 years young.  Born on May 14th, 1965 to the late Valerio and Beatriz Carrasco, she was a ray of sunshine from beginning to end. Julia was a San Francisco native who resided in Lathrop, CA. Born in Santiago Papasquiaro, Durango, Mexico, Julia immigrated to the United States at the young age of 14. She would establish her new home in San Francisco, CA. She attended New Comer Center High School in San Francisco and would go on to Moler Barber College. One of Julia’s many passions was making people look and feel their best. She later went to Zenzy’s Beauty College and became a Cosmetologist, which she enjoyed doing for over 30 years. Most recently, Julia worked for the Family Resource and Referral Center (aka “211”) that allowed her to help those in need throughout the San Joaquin County.  Julia was social and full of energy. Her smile was contagious and she lived each moment to the fullest. She was determined and approached life like a warrior, taking on any and every challenge life threw her way. Julia had fun, real fun. She was bubbly and charismatic, “the life of the party” as she was known for always singing and dancing wherever she went. Her energy was radiant. Julia left an everlasting impact on everyone she encountered. She loved her children beyond measure and lived for them completely. Julia loved spending time with her sisters and made any occasion an event. She was a faithful Catholic and held God close to her heart.  Julia never let Cancer define her and she never allowed it to slow her down. She consistently balanced supporting her children, enjoying family time while focused on her career and many hobbies. She was beautiful, graceful and elegant. Not just on the outside, but her beauty came from within.  Julia leaves behind her adored children, Giselle Barajas, Stephanie (Andres) Guerra, Kevin (Larissa) Barajas and Valeriee Barajas. In addition, Julia leaves behind her 6 sisters, Rafaela (Francisco) Fausto, Chila Carrasco, Nines Carrasco (Pedro Toribio), Betty Carrasco, Letty (Tony) Lara & Lupe Carrasco and many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly. P.L. Fry and Son is honored to serve the Carrasco Family. The family invites all of Julia’s friends to come and celebrate her life with them either in person or virtually via live stream. The Viewing will be held on Thursday, February 18th from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm, with a Rosary from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Mass will be held Friday, February 19th at 11:00 am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 525 East North Street, Manteca, CA. She will be laid to rest alongside her parents in Colma, CA.
