Larry S. Yamasaki

Larry Yamasaki was born on July 15, 1951 in Stockton, California to the late Clarence and Sakaye Yamasaki. He was married to the love of his life, Melissa, for 46 years. Together they were blessed with two children: Ryan (Rachel) Yamasaki of Salida and Erica (Joe) Segura of Ripon. Larry had seven grandchildren whom he adored: Rayann, Reid, Rhett and Olivia, Adeline, Jude and Lucy. He leaves behind his five siblings: Jim (Florence) Yamasaki of Manteca, Marie (the Late Joe) Tallariti of Cotati, the late Wally (Gerry) Yamasaki of Fresno, Ralph Yamasaki (Victoria McGilvary) of Palo Alto.

Larry grew up in French Camp and was part of the first graduating class of East Union High School (class of 1969).  He went on to study graphic arts at Fresno State University and followed that with a full career with PG&E that lasted 35 years.  Larry was an extremely hard worker and passionate about sports and people.  He was an avid fan of professional and collegiate sports which inspired his love of playing, as well as coaching and mentoring children from little league through high school.  Larry was an extremely talented artist and enjoyed drawing, water color, and especially photography.  Although he was a quiet man, Larry loved any opportunity to spend time with friends and family.  Larry and Melissa created many treasured memories during their travels together where he enjoyed beautiful scenery, great food, and people watching.  Larry lived a full and blessed life where his greatest joys were his relationship with Jesus, his lovely wife, his kids, and his grandchildren. 

Donations may be made in Larry’s name to Living Well Ministry at Calvary Community Church.  This foundation helps the needy of our area, a ministry Larry was passionate about.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 11:30am at Calvary Community Church, 815 W. Lathrop Road, Manteca, California.
