Maria Duran

Maria E. Duran, 78,  peacefully passed away on August 20, 2019 in Manteca, California surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 9, 1941 in Mexico to Miguel and Saturina Yanez. Maria leaves behind her five children whom she adored: Lisa Duran of Manteca, Sienna Duran of Manteca, Merced Duran (Joline) of Modesto, Elizabeth Arellano (John) of Manteca and Gina Duran (Dan) of Berkeley. She was blessed with seven grandchildren who loved her: Anthony Duran of Manteca, Marcus and Savanna Duran of Modesto, Julian Duran (Kaitlynn) of Oregon and Michael, Gracie and Gianna Arellano of Manteca. She had two great grandchildren, Llewyn Duran and Livi Duran. She is also survived by her sister, Yolanda Marquez of Mexico.

Maria was an amazing mother and grandmother who worked hard for her family. Her greatest joy in life were her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kind and gentle soul. She loved to sew, cook, garden and do various arts and crafts. She worked many years for H. J. Heinz Company  in Tracy, CA  retiring after it closed in 1998.  Maria was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Maria was a good friend to many.  She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the Duran Family. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2019 from 1pm to 5pm. A Rosary will begin at 3pm on Sunday at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home.  Her Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 165 W. Eaton Avenue, Tracy, California on Monday, August 26, 2019 at 11am , followed by a burial at Tracy Public Cemetery. An online guestbook is available for condolences at www.plfryandson.com.
