Marie D. Bennett

Marie Dorothy  Bennett , 89, of Ripon, CA passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 in Green  Valley,  AZ.

Marie was born to William and Mary Frances Silveira on July 27, 1929 in Manteca,  CA.

She married William E. Bennett in 1948 and together they raised two children, Gayle Ann and William (Butch).

She is survived by her two children, Gayle Ann Wood (Michael) and William E. Bennett Jr. (Leslie), her six grandchildren, Kirsten Garcia (Frank), Joseph Bennett (Kelly), Jonathon Wood, Brian Wood, Cassie Sarkaria (Ravi), and Frances Wood.  She is also survived by five great grandchildren, Alex Sanna, Christopher Garcia, Emily Bennett, Andrew Bennett and Joshua Garcia and her three loving sisters, Lorraine Munoz (Edward), Alice Teresi (Michael) and Marge Garcia along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, William E. Bennett, her brother in law, Robert Garcia and her niece Debbie Butler.

Marie graduated from Manteca High School then went on to become owner operator of her own beauty salon in Santa Clara, CA. The next chapter of her life was working alongside her husband, Bill, in the running of a successful almond ranch in Ripon, CA. for over 25 years.  Together, they also built a beautiful vacation home at Lake Don Pedro and enjoyed many years of water skiing and golfing with family and friends.  Marie was an avid golfer and a member of several golf clubs in San Jose and Stockton.

Her children, family and friends will always remember her as a warm, loving, funny, friendly and loyal wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt.

A rosary will be at P.L. Fry Funeral Chapel 290 N. Union Rd. Manteca, Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 4:30 PM.  Funeral Mass will be on Monday, October 15th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at 12 noon, 19399 HWY 120, Ripon, Ca. followed by internment at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. A reception at Chez Shari's will follow the services, 305 N. Union Road, Manteca, CA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.

The family would like to thank Remida Hospice and the care takers at Bee Hive Homes in Green Valley, AZ and especially Baerbel Oday for their love and kindness shown to Marie for for the past 5 years.
