Mary Etta Filbin

Mary Etta (Peerson) Filbin, 87, born 10/27/1934 in Los Angeles CA rose to heaven on 8/11/2022 to join her beloved husband Edward J. Filbin (passed away 4/10 2017).

She was the only child of Homer and Florene Peerson. Mary Etta graduated from Manteca Union High in 1952 and soon after on April 12, 1953, married Ed, her high school sweetheart. Their children are David, Anne (Harp), Joseph, and Elaine (Koch). The family now includes 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Mary Etta and Ed worked side by side for 64 years as ranchers, transportation specialists, and were innovators in the recycling industry. During their marriage they called California, Nevada and Texas home at one time or another.

She was a Westley/Vernalis 4H leader teaching and guiding girls in cooking and sewing skills. Mary Etta loved a good glass of Merlot, reading mystery novels, but mostly caring for those she loved.

P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the Filbin Family. A Mass will be held on Friday, August 19th @ 11 a.m. at The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2900 N. McCarran Blvd., Sparks NV. A Graveside service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 10am at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, 17871 Carrolton Road, Escalon, California.
