Patsy “Pat” Nelson, 68, entered into rest on February 10, 2017 in Manteca, Ca. She was born on October 31, 1948 in Louisiana to the late Dorothy and George Emmitt. She is preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Johnny Nelson and her sister Roberta Mitchell.

Pat is survived by her two daughters Meachelle Williams and Danna and husband Sandy Houston. She was blessed with one grandson Steven Houston. In addition Pat is survived by two surviving siblings Douglas Gene Fortson and Georg Emmitt Jr. and Nephews Clarence Murray and Murri Mitchel and niece Lasonia Murray. 

Pat grew up in Louisiana and attended Gremlin College where she played baseball.  She was a resident of Manteca for 41 years. She worked for the Manteca Unified School District for over 30 years as a school bus driver.  By nature she was a nurturer, which was evident in her career caring and loving on all the children she came in contact with. She was a lover of all sports; especially tennis where she wouldn’t miss match that was televised. Pat was a local celebrity for her delicious cooking and during the Manteca fairs anyone that knew Pat knew that they could catch her at her food booth cooking away for local fair goers.  She enjoyed taking day trips to local casinos where she loved her slot machines; always hoping to hit “the big one.” Above all, Pat favorite past time was watcher her grandson Steven play baseball; she was truly his biggest fan. Pat will be remembered for her caring spirit, loving heart and her zest for life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
