Tribute

Polinikis “Paul” Tsirelas, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 23, 2021. Paul leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Niki and two children, John Tsirelas and Joann Tsirelas (Mark Marro) both of Manteca. He was also blessed with two grandsons, Poliniki Tsirelas-Marro and Yianni Tsirelas-Marro that he adored. He is preceded in death by his 6 siblings and is survived by his brothers, Andonis and Eraclis and many nieces and nephews.

 

Paul immigrated to the United States from Greece on April 29, 1969 in order to make a better life for his family. Paul worked for his brother, Eraclis, at the Horseshoe Café in Tracy, CA for 7 years and then

he lived the American Dream and became a business owner, not once but twice. He opened his first restaurant in Lincoln, CA called Lincoln Café in 1977. He then opened his second restaurant in Manteca, CA in 1987 called Johnny’s.  Paul was a hardworking man and in his free time enjoyed gardening and making homemade wine. He enjoyed traveling and took his entire family back to Greece in 2013 to learn about their roots. Paul was a loving family man and will be deeply missed.

 

Due to Covid-19, a private service will be held on Tuesday, February 9 at St. Basil’s Greek Orthodox Church, Stockton, CA. P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the Tsirelas Family. An online guestbook is available for condolences at www.plfryandson.com
