Phil grew up in San Bernardino and later moved to Stockton where he received his college education and teaching credential at University of the Pacific. Phil dedicated 35 years of his life to education as a teacher, where he inspired countless young minds at Sequoia Elementary school. Renowned for his passion for math and his love for the school theater, he also served as a track coach and softball referee, impacting the lives of his students both inside and outside the classroom. His commitment to the community extended to his roles at the United Methodist Church, where he sang in the praise team and acted in church plays. He also worked behind the scenes helping with the sound system for churches, Manteca Idol and the East Union Choir. His past involvement with the Manteca Jaycees further exemplified his unwavering dedication to service to his community.

Phil's talents extended beyond the classroom and church walls. He found joy in reading, tinkering, and utilizing his remarkable skills to fix almost anything, especially cars. He loved restoring old houses. Known for his generous and empathetic nature, Phil was always ready to lend a helping hand. His sense of humor and mischievous spirit brought joy to all who knew him.
