Robert Petersen

Robert (Bob) Lee Petersen was a caring and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend, and cat dad. God took him to heaven suddenly on Jan. 12, 2022 at age 85. He was born to Robert and Elsie Petersen on Oct. 18, 1936; usually celebrating every year with German chocolate cake or cinnamon rolls. After graduating high school, Bob joined the U.S. Air Force and served 4 years (1957-1960) before meeting the love of his life, Carol, in Riverside, CA. During their 61 year marriage, they were blessed with having 2 girls: Connie and Paula.

Bob loved God and was always active in the church choir, adding that great bass voice. Spending time with family was an extreme joy and continuously full of laughter as he was always on point with his quick wisecracks and dry humor. A retired machinist, most downtime was spent in his garage working on cars and in his garden digging in the dirt. All enjoyed his bountiful harvest every summer. Heaven’s gardens will be that much more beautiful because of his extra touch. In between hitting golf balls with Jesus, he’s probably already tinkering with something.

He is loved and missed by his wife Carol Petersen, daughters Connie Petersen Goodwin and Paula Petersen Lines, son-in-laws Ronnie Goodwin and Frank Lines, sisters Roberta Petersen Wilson (Van) and Becky Petersen Farmer (Bill), friends, and Foxy the cat. His legacy lives on in his grandchildren Eric Goodwin (Tiffany), Jennifer Goodwin, Noël Brower (Cade), and Ariel Wach (Eric) and his great-grandchildren Gavin Goodwin, Eriana Goodwin, and Asher Wach. We will all miss “that turkey”; his favorite teasing expression.
