Ronald Rodelander peacefully entered the presence of the Lord the evening of September 8th, surrounded by his cherished family.
He was born in Oakland, California on June 29th, 1946 to proud parents, Lon and Roberta.
At 18, he entered the Navy, serving aboard the USS Galveston and USS St. Paul. While in the Navy, he met and married the love of his life, Yolanda, and together they had two daughters, Gina and Shiree.
Following his Naval service, Ron began working in the fabric industry with his first employer, House of Fabrics. He later signed on with New York Fabrics, enjoying many years with them, before venturing out to open his own fabric store in 1992.
He was successful and talented in business, yet Ron’s most treasured life achievements flowed from his love of the Lord Jesus and his deep devotion to his family. Though known as a man of few words, he loved teaching Bible study and encouraging residents at a local retirement home. He was known as one who consistently “went the extra mile” for others. He was deeply involved in the lives of his family and friends, who valued his wisdom, extraordinary thoughtfulness and fun-loving nature.
Ron is remembered as a most loving, generous husband, tender, faithful dad, and devoted Poppy to his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is profoundly missed, but we also rejoice that he is alive and well in Heaven. We look forward to seeing him again and creating more fun, joyful memories.
