Ruth Eileen (Daniels) Tipton went to be with her Heavenly Father on May 30, 2018, in Manteca, California. She was 89 years old. Ruth was born August 4, 1928, in Denair, California to Harry and Verna Daniels. Ruth attended Rustic, Veritas, and Yosemite Grammar Schools and graduated from Manteca High School in 1946. She was a loving wife for 31 years to James Tipton, who preceded her in death in 1998. Ruth was a loving mother to Rodney Brown (deceased) and Gloria (Brown) Dovichi. She is survived by her loving daughter, Gloria (Brown) Dovichi and son-in-law Enrico, three grandchildren she was blessed with: Kellie Hebert (Josh), Julie (Dovichi) Day (Michael), and Michael Dovichi (Jenifer). She was doubly blessed with eight great grandchildren: Kaylin, Josh, Julius, Kaydance and Jett Hebert, Tayden and Milania Dovichi and Lucca Day. Ruth also leaves behind her sister, Helen Mesa of Manteca and many loving nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Verna Daniels, husband James Tipton, son Rodney Brown, and brothers, Lowell “Ellis” Daniels, Lloyd Daniels, Alfred (Leonard) Daniels, and a sister, Doris Daniels.
Ruth lived most of her childhood on the family's rural Manteca (S. Union Rd) farm. That farm would later become a part of the Hwy 120 bypass and Daniels Estates. Ruth began working at Kraft Foods in Manteca as a teenager and later at Abbott Laboratory near Chicago before returning to Manteca. Upon returning to Manteca in 1960, Ruth began working at Sharpe Army Depot, retiring after 22 years.
Ruth enjoyed a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as her savior and Lord and served Him faithfully all the days of her life. She had an amazing love for her Heavenly Father and all of nature that He created. Ruth grew up attending church, and she attended and served at Sequoia Heights Baptist Church since 1960, where she taught every level of Sunday School. She was a loyal caregiver for those who were unable to attend church, and she also led many people to Christ in her lifetime. Ruth and her husband, James, made their biggest impact on teenagers when they were youth leaders for their church in the late 60's into the 70's. Ruth enjoyed music, including playing the guitar, piano and organ (all by ear). She shared her talents with her church for many years by playing the organ and piano, and singing in the church choir. Ruth wrote several songs, including religious songs and songs dedicated to her loved ones. She also completed several Theology college units.
Before Ruth's husband James' death in 1998, they traveled through 29 states in their motor home, enjoying nature. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, many other crafts and cooking dinners for her family. Her love was unconditional, and she never asked for anything or expected anything in return. Family was very important to Ruth, and her faith in God was visible in every area of her life. She led by example and taught her children to love God, also. Ruth's love for her Sequoia Heights Baptist Church family was very special. Ruth also was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
Ruth will be missed dearly by her family, but it comforts them to know that Ruth made it clear she was ready to leave Earth to be with her Heavenly Father and other loved ones in Heaven. Gloria would like to thank Dr. Craig Bobson and his staff for all the loving care they gave to her dear Mother for many years.
