Sally Pankey

Sally Pankey was born on December 12, 1930 in California and passed away on July 12, 2021 in Pleasanton, California. 

Mary Elizabeth James, known as "Sally Pankey", born in Oakland California on December 12, 1930, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2021 in Pleasanton, California. 

Sally is survived by her daughter, Karen Gilroy of West Linn, OR, her son, Douglas Pankey, daughter in law, Diane Pankey of Ripon, CA and her four beloved grandchildren: Sarah Gilroy, Andrew Gilroy, Daniel Pankey and Kayla Pankey.    

Sally devoted much of her life to her family, friends, and was an active member of the community including the Washington County Township Women’s Club which she joined when she was in her early 30’s, her co-workers at Stanford Telecom, the Red Hat Club to her son’s days in Little League where she formed lifelong friendships with the other Little League mother’s.  

Sally was a true fashionista (boy did Nordstrom love her) Sally was a true adventurer that loved traveling the world and playing the slot machines and bingo. Most of all, Sally was the best Mother, loving Nana and trusted adviser and we were truly blessed to have had her in our lives.  Sally was an incredibly special woman who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

 A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Sunol’s Casa Bella, 11984 Main Street, in Sunol, on Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 11am to 2pm.
