Sol Cruz Sangalang, 86, entered into rest surrounded by his family on June 4, 2022 in Manteca. He was born in Angeles City, Pampanga in the Philippines on October 5, 1935 to the late Apolinar and Donata Sangalang. 

Sol leaves behind his loving wife of 55 years, Lily Sangalang of Manteca. He leaves his children, Sean (Melissa) Sangalang of Manteca, Stephanie Stubbings of Manteca, Scott (Ellaine) Sangalang of Manteca and Steve (Molly) Sangalang of Elk Grove. Sol was blessed with many grandchildren, Stephen, Justin, Thomas, Maya, Ryan, Ella Sienna, Erin, Rady and Lyla. In addition, he is survived by one sibling, Gloria Villarta, of Manteca. 

Sol was a long time Manteca resident. He was a civil engineer for the state of California’s Department of Water Resources. He worked hard throughout his life and after he retired, he lived for his grandchildren. He cherished the time he spent picking them up after school, spending time with them, and watching them grow. Sol also had a passion for music, singing in a choir and playing in a mariachi band alongside his wife. For many years he was an active member of the Legionarios Del Trabajo but ultimately, home was his sanctuary and he enjoyed spending time in his garden. He will be remembered as an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. Sol will be deeply missed.
