Teodulo Villanueva, affectionately known by his family as “Papa Ted”, passed away at the age of 92 in Stockton, California on July 15, 2021. He was born on July 28, 1928 in the Philippines, to Manuel and Francisca Villanueva. Sixty three years and 4 months ago, he married the love of his life, Beatriz, and together they raised 6 children: Vilma (Eric) Antonio of Fremont, California, Eric (Lezel) Villanueva of the Philippines, Leah Estrella of Manteca, Elsa Estrella of Manteca, Alan Ted (Carmen) Villanueva of Alabama and Olga (Edwin) Cruz of Sacramento. He was blessed with 18 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sisters, Lolita, of New Jersey and Nora of the Philippines.

Prior to coming to the United States in 1989, Papa Ted completed his education in the Philippines and went on to work at the United States Navy Base in Subic Bay, Philippines, and later as a mechanical engineer supervisor in Pan Asia Architects and Engineers in Okinawa, Japan. His hobbies included playing golf, bowling, and gardening, and he was a fan of a good rib and steak dinner.  

Papa Ted was a man of deep faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He shared his faith through leading Bible studies and prided himself on instilling those same values to his family. He was a considerate and generous man, beloved by many for his hospitality, and was a true father figure to many through the years.

P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the Villanueva Family. A viewing will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 10am to Noon with a Memorial Service beginning at Noon at 290 N. Union Road, Manteca, California. An online guestbook is available for condolences at www.plfryandson.com.
