Thomas Allen Liggett, 75, entered into rest on May 30, 2019 in Manteca. He was born on August 4, 1943 in Westwood, California. In heaven he joins his sons Gary and Scott Liggett.
Thomas leaves behind his parents Donald and Heddie Liggett of Manteca, his wife Judy Liggett of Manteca, children, Patricia Jeski of Davis, Mark Liggett and wife Robin of LA, Lori Berg and husband Mike of CO. Thomas also leaves behind numerous grandchildren which include, Paul, Trisha, Taylor, Robert, Collin, Cole, Kendall and many stepchildren and step grandchildren.
Thomas was a Manteca resident. He served his country proudly from 1961-1982 through the United States Navy retiring as Chief and serving three tours in Vietnam. Tom would then go on to retire a second time from the United States Postal Service serving from 1984-2000.
He was a car enthusiast and had a passion for restoring classic cars. He was a member of The Nuts and Bolts Car Club where everyone was more like family. Tom was a member of the American Legion Post #249 and served as Commander as well as being a member of the V.F.W. He enjoyed driving in his R.V. going from coast to coast and spending good times with friends.
He loved his family dearly and cherished all the time spent. Tom will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed.
P.L. Fry and Son is honored to serve the Liggett family. A chapel service will be held in his honor on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca. He will be laid to rest at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Legion Post #249, 220 E. Yosemite Ave., Manteca, CA.
