Born on April 29, 1940 in Houston, Texas, Virginia Lopez Medina, 82, entered into rest on January 29, 2023. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Medina, parents Jose and Elvira Lopez and siblings, William Lopez, Elvira (Beva) Rodriguez, Josephine (Fina) Horiuchi, Adela Miramontes, and Silvia O’Reilly.
Ms. Medina is survived by her children Ben Medina (Terry), Mark Medina (Rosie) and Valerie Re (Frank). She was blessed by seven grandchildren Sherenah, Benjamin, Nicole, Katrina, Mark Jr., Kayla and Vincenzo and five great-grandchildren Olivia, Jasmin, Nathan, Vicente and Victoria. In addition, Virginia is survived by her 4 siblings Olivia Reyes, Joseph (Pepe) Lopez, Carlos Lopez and Sophie Maestas.
While living in San Jose, Virginia was a Nanny working with children for over 12 years. She loved working and taking care of children. She especially loved taking care of all her grandchildren, who were the loves of her heart. Virginia felt that family was too important and made a point of visiting and talking to her family members whenever possible. Family always came first. It was this value that she instilled in her children and their children for generations to come. She always enjoyed getting together with her siblings for special events to catch up and have some fun and laughs.
Virginia has made her home in Manteca for the past 10 years to be closer to her son. She enjoyed traveling to local casinos and going to the Senior Center weekly participating in Bingo. Virginia loved spending time with her dog Bella, watching her Novellas and day out shopping. Virginia will be remembered for her strong family values, her firecracker personality, and her big heart. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
