William Holt Eavenson, 79, entered into rest on July 8, 2021 in Manteca, Ca. He was born in Long Beach, Ca on June 8, 1942 to the late Virginia and Dan Eavenson.

Mr. Eavenson is survived by his loving family; wife of 57 years Beverly Eavenson, children, Victoria Brown (Michael), Dan Eavenson (Michelle) and Crickett Stephens (Mike), grandchildren, Joseph, Matthew and Julianne Eavenson, Eli Stephens and Rachel Stephens, siblings, Charles, John and Patrick Eavenson and Sue Rodgers.

Bill was a 75-year resident of Manteca and a 1960 graduate of Manteca High School. Bill’s career in the construction industry spanned over 50 years.  As a partner and general manager in Eavenson Construction, he worked with his family to develop several large housing tracts in Manteca in the 1960s and ‘70s, including Greystone Manor and Colony Park.  In 1985, he started “Bill Eavenson Construction” where he built many commercial and residential structures all over the Central Valley. He and his wife Beverly also owned and operated the KOA Kampground in Stockton for over 35 years.  Throughout his professional life, Bill enjoyed interacting with his many workers and tenants, developing many lifelong friendships. Bill appreciated his Manteca community, serving as a Volunteer Fireman for 6 years with the Manteca Lathrop Fire Department.  He was a past president and member of the Manteca Jaycees, a past president and member of the Manteca High Athletic Boosters, and volunteered countless hours to local sporting and community events.  Bill was a devoted family man and loved to travel. He and his wife traveled extensively, visiting 38 US states, 85 countries and all 7 continents, frequently taking along their children, grandchildren, family members and friends.  Every July for over 53 years, he looked forward to the annual camping trip in Lake Tahoe with an extensive group of family and friends, enjoying golf, beer and storytelling.  Throughout the years, Bill loved attending his children and his grandchildren’s athletic and other activities, enthusiastically supporting each of them in their endeavors.  He remained a big supporter of the Manteca Buffaloes until the end. Bill loved to socialize--he loved people and people were drawn to his outgoing demeanor.  For decades, he was a fixture on Friday evenings at the Original Deli House, where Mantecans gathered to discuss local sports, politics and events. Strangers from around town and the world quickly became his friends.  He was a great conversationalist and loved to share his stories about his growing up in Manteca, his travels and other adventures.  Bill will be remembered for his heart of gold, sense of humor, his incomparable work ethic, and the unconditional love for his family. He will be forever missed.
