Zita was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on April 22, 1933. Zita Ortiz entered into to the arms of Jesus on January 21, 2023 the Prestige Memory Care Facility in Manteca, CA. She is preceded in death by her parents Leo and Angelina Lopez, her beloved husband Daniel Ortiz Sr. and her four sisters and one brother.
Zita is survived by her four children: Daniel Ortiz (Helen), David Ortiz, Darlene Thomson and Dennis Ortiz. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren who she adored.
Ms. Ortiz made her home in Manteca for the past 8 years and had previously lived in Oakdale, California and Sidney, Ohio. Zita attended CWC Life Church in Manteca with her son and daughter-in-law as often as her health permitted. She enjoyed crocheting, reading the newspaper and playing with her dog Bella. Zita loved her family, she was a wonderful listener and always had the perfect advice to give. Spending time talking about her childhood was her favorite past time. Zita gave her life to Jesus at a young age. She served him by making trips to Mexico to bring the Word to those who didnt know God. She served Him until the very end. Zita will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
